Tayler is Turning 18!

Brian helped frost Tayler's birthday cake this year. I remember standing in the kitchen when Tayler was turning one and he was helping frost that cake.
We went up to Langdon lake to celebrate her 18th birthday.

A trip down memory lane. Here is our little girl that is now some how 18 years old.

Happy 18th birthday!

Off To High School

Both Tayler and Kylee are in High School this year. Where does the time go?
Today all three of us went up to register and it was fun to watch Tayler show her little sister around. They are planning on taking each other out to lunch through out the year. It is fun to watch them together. They are wonderful friends.
I forgot that I had video of Kylee in her showmanship class at County Fair, so here it is.

Here Brian is giving Hannah a drink of water after her trail class at State Fair.

Huckleberry Picking

Dad went out scouting huckleberries and found some really good patches for our anual berry picking trip.

Poppa and Grammie clearing out this patch of berries.

We ended up picking about a gallon and a half in just a little time.

Oregon State Fair

We took off for Salem so Kylee could compete in the Oregon State Fair Horse Show.
We stopped off half way there so that Hannah could stretch her legs. 5 hours in a trailer is a long time.
Here are all the kids that qualified for State from Umatilla County.
Aaron, Rianna, Paula, Kylee, Allie, and Crystal.
Here is Hannah's stall all decorated.
Kylee is visualizing her pattern before she enters the ring. It was about 108 degrees.
This is Kylee in her showmanship class. She got a blue ribbon and just missed being called back into medalian class.
This is Kylee's good friends horse getting a little bit of Ethan's snowcone.
Then he got a "brain freeze". Look at Ethan laughing.

Then there was trail class. Here is Kylee when she was putting the grain bucket back on the barrel. Hannah thought she could help herself. She ended up grabbing it, tossing it and the grain all over for about 10-15 seconds. It was scary and hilarious all at the same time. I was so caught up wondering what Hannah was going to do that I stopped taking pictures. Too bad we didn't have a video of it.
All our kids and their horses at the end of fair.
On our way home, we stopped again to give Hannah a break.
I caught Tayler resting on the truck.Allie and Kylee. Allie is a great friend and she and Kylee have a great time together.
Kylee resting while Hannah snacks.
Tayler found a little tree frog while we were at the park.
He was so little and cute. Tayler wanted to bring him home. I told her she hasn't changed since she was two and a half. :o)

Sale Day At The Fair

Today was Tayler's last day at County Fair.
I joined her in the morning and found her and
Jessie washing their lambs getting ready for the auction.

Back at the sheep barn. Bobby has a slight attachment to Tayler.
He is trying to snuggle with her, maybe even crawl in her lap.
This is Ellie. She is very attached to her sheep too. It is hard to say "good-bye".
There were a lot of small children at the fair today.
This little girl was a little aprehensive about touching Bobby but wanted to see him.
Time for the auction. Here are two of the auctioneers.
Thank goodness the room was full of buyers.
This was a great experience with a ton of great stories to tell.
Thank you to Les Schwab for supporting Pendleton's FFA chapter.
