Oregon State Fair

We took off for Salem so Kylee could compete in the Oregon State Fair Horse Show.
We stopped off half way there so that Hannah could stretch her legs. 5 hours in a trailer is a long time.
Here are all the kids that qualified for State from Umatilla County.
Aaron, Rianna, Paula, Kylee, Allie, and Crystal.
Here is Hannah's stall all decorated.
Kylee is visualizing her pattern before she enters the ring. It was about 108 degrees.
This is Kylee in her showmanship class. She got a blue ribbon and just missed being called back into medalian class.
This is Kylee's good friends horse getting a little bit of Ethan's snowcone.
Then he got a "brain freeze". Look at Ethan laughing.

Then there was trail class. Here is Kylee when she was putting the grain bucket back on the barrel. Hannah thought she could help herself. She ended up grabbing it, tossing it and the grain all over for about 10-15 seconds. It was scary and hilarious all at the same time. I was so caught up wondering what Hannah was going to do that I stopped taking pictures. Too bad we didn't have a video of it.
All our kids and their horses at the end of fair.
On our way home, we stopped again to give Hannah a break.
I caught Tayler resting on the truck.Allie and Kylee. Allie is a great friend and she and Kylee have a great time together.
Kylee resting while Hannah snacks.
Tayler found a little tree frog while we were at the park.
He was so little and cute. Tayler wanted to bring him home. I told her she hasn't changed since she was two and a half. :o)

Sale Day At The Fair

Today was Tayler's last day at County Fair.
I joined her in the morning and found her and
Jessie washing their lambs getting ready for the auction.

Back at the sheep barn. Bobby has a slight attachment to Tayler.
He is trying to snuggle with her, maybe even crawl in her lap.
This is Ellie. She is very attached to her sheep too. It is hard to say "good-bye".
There were a lot of small children at the fair today.
This little girl was a little aprehensive about touching Bobby but wanted to see him.
Time for the auction. Here are two of the auctioneers.
Thank goodness the room was full of buyers.
This was a great experience with a ton of great stories to tell.
Thank you to Les Schwab for supporting Pendleton's FFA chapter.

FFA Sheep Showing

Thursday we went to County Fair and saw this picture of Kylee.
Her Friend took it last Friday and entered it in the fair. She got a
blue ribbon. Isn't it neat how she has the reflection in the mirror?
This is Tayler's first day showing her sheep.
This is the banner that hangs above Bobby, her sheep.
I asked for a little attitude and got it.
Isn't she cute?
Here is Bobby resting in his pen.
Here are the girls waiting to go into their class.
Tayler's first and only class of the day.

Here is everyone in her class. Tayler placed
4th in the class. Not to bad for not having a clue what
we are doing.

Boating Fun

We went out on the boat a few times this summer and had a blast.
Here is Kylee up at Langdon Lake. Cheyenne and Kylee at sunset on the river.
The faster and more wakes, the better for these two.
Sterling and Kylee flagging.
Nick (18 years) on the tube.
Mark relaxing and taking a break from his driving duties.
These two can't stay in the boat long before they are ready to go again.

Mark taught us all how to drive. Cheyenne wants to drive a boat
everywhere. She says it is a lot easier than cars.
Brian took a turn in the water too.
He finally got tired out and crashed (not literally).

Babysitting Fun

I love summer! We have been so lucky to babysit this precious baby one day a week. I can't believe how fast she changes. Each week she is showing off something new. This is when she was only 6 weeks old and she had discovered her tongue. 7 weeks and looking all over.
Eight weeks and such a flirt. She is so much fun to admire.
I think she looks like her daddy here. Speaking of her daddy. Look at this beautiful stage coach he MADE!
Every piece of it.
This is Vickie with her team taking it out for it's very first spin.
It rides like a dream. Unbelievable.

Picking Raspberries

On our way out to the River House this summer,
we stopped by this wagon wheel to take a picture of Tayler. Once we got to there, we found Poppa "in" the raspberries already picking berries.
