Celebration & Santa

Wow! Life is good. I had the best week ever!
On Monday four of my friends and I learned that we were awarded a grant from Qwest in the amount of $7,400 to go toward some new technology at our school.

Then a few days later I learned that I was also awarded another grant from Wildhorse in the amount of $7,602 to go towards more technology for our school. With these grants we will be a very "high tech" school. I can't wait to see what kinds of great things come of this opportunity.

Then I went to work the next day and my fabulous friends surprised me with these beautiful flowers. See what I mean by it being the best week ever?

Then Saturday rolled around and I got to be the photographer for "Pictures with Santa" at the Family Activity Day (Festival of Trees). Kylee helped out too and even posed with Santa.June is in charge of this event and she swung by to see Santa too.
In four hours of non stop picture taking only a handful of kids cried.
This little boy was fine until his mom set him on Santa's lap. The mom knew he was going to react this way and asked me to snap the shot anyway. Think he will be traumatized forever?
Here is a picture of a family I just love. I had BL in my class a few year ago and she remains to be very special to me. (She is the oldest on the left).
This is L who is in my room this year and she also is a wonderful person. I know she will be just like BL above and always be a part of my life. They are all beautiful inside and out!
On our way out of town to see Kylee's basketball game, we were lucky enough to catch a glimpse of Vickie and her carriage in the Christmas parade down Main Street. After the parade Tayler helped her give carriage rides for the next three hours. This was a big hit and people lined up for a long way to get a chance to have a ride.
Kylee's basketball season has started and they played in a tournament today. Here are the girls ready to introduce the starters.
Kylee listening to the coach during a timeout.
Kylee has all freshman on her team but today they were playing a varsity team. They didn't win, but they scored over 30 points.
Kylee got this rebound and put it up for a bucket. She scored 4 points in today's game.

They ended up getting second place. Not bad for a young team.
Kylee says she doesn't like to play and this will be her last year.
She is really pretty good though, especially on defense.
All smiles after the game.

Full of Surprises

We had a great visit and Thanksgiving dinner in Portland this year.
Unfortunately, Kylee got sick and has spent everyday sick on the couch since we got home.

I thought these two snowmen were cute, so I put them in the window.

Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween everyone.
Today Kylee brought a couple friends home so they could hang out and watch scary movies, since they really are too old to trick or treat. (Scary movies lasted about 5 minutes).
This evening we had one very special trick or treater.
Vickie brought little (6 months old) Miranda over all dressed up as a little lamb.
Oh my goodness, look at her sitting up.
She thought the girls were pretty entertaining.

Is she cute or what?

Mud Wars 2008

Kylee had a couple friends over to the house and they got dressed for mud wars together.
Mud wars is were teams of 14 girls have a tug of war in mud that is knee deep.
They were on the "Purple Leading Ladies" team.
The BEFORE shot.
Here is the whole team of freshman.
Kelsey and Kylee
"The Pit"
This is the "Chaotic Critters" team that Tayler is on.
They are all dressed as different animals (Tayler not in the picture).
Lisa, Jessie, and Tayler. Don't they look great?
Here is EVERYONE on the senior team.
Kylee's team of freshmen won their first three matches. Very impressive.
Tayler's team started off good, but ran into trouble when they went against Kylee's team.

Kylee's team ended up third over all which is a new record. Go freshmen.

Then it came down to Tayler's Senior team against Kylee's team. They both fought hard.

The "AFTER" shot of Kylee.
Jessie and Tayler "AFTER".
Tayler didn't hold anything against Kylee for having a stronger team. They just had fun!

Homecoming Dance

One of my favorites days of the year came around again this weekend. I love it when the girls and their friends get together before the Homecoming dance to get ready. I don't like the dance part too much, but love the getting ready. I got to do every ones makeup and helped Kylee and Jessie curl their hair. Here is what the bathroom looked like. A counter full of makeup, hair products, nail polish supplies, along with three sizes of curling irons.
Kylee in dark green.
(Please ignore the shadow, I can't seem to shoot a good shot indoors when it
is dark outside).
Adam and Kylee ready to go.

Tayler going with the Homecoming theme "Animal Print".
Tayler and her good friend Austin. Adam, Kylee, Tayler, and Austin right before they left.
Here are the three girls when the guys weren't around.
Jessie and Kylee are really good at getting crazy, while Tayler hates it (but loves it).

Oooops!

Woke up this morning and saw the sprinklers going.

Flowers Tayler got from her date.
They went to the Hermiston Corn Maze with their cousins and had a good time.
Afterwards they (Tayler, her date, and Kylee) went to get a pop at Shari's and someone working in the kitchen made this rose for Kylee. Everyone had a good time.
